Hello! I am Tandrila Das & I am incredibly proud of many of my friends from college who have been involved with Asha San Diego over the years. With my recent move to the city, I joined Asha San Diego’s “Couch to 5K & Beyond Programme” to train for a 5K run on August 15th this year. More importantly, this provides me an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for ‘Asha for Education’ and their efforts for education of underprivileged children in India.
Today there are many organizations for us to choose from to donate our hard earned dollars, so Why choose Asha for Education?
Besides their noble cause and work at the grass root levels, Asha is a “minimal overhead” organization, driven by volunteers (including the administrative expenses) ensuring that more than 95% of our donations are sent to their partner groups in India. Asha for Education has consistently secured a 4-star (out of 4) rating on Charity Navigator, a well-established database that evaluates non-profit organizations on the basis of transparency, accountability and financial parameters
